WHY LOOK BACKWARDS
When you look back over your life, do you focus on the bad stuff or do you see an army of goodness behind you? Lets cut to the chase. Everything that’s happened in your life (good and bad) has made you who you are today.
You made choices and adopted new beliefs from every … every … incident. Those choices have shaped your personality, your values, your desires. What happened in the past is behind you. Your past pains and struggles cannot be changed. So why do you keep running the movies?
There are only three reasons. One … You are addicted to the chemicals which your body creates when you put your thoughts into emotional pain mode. Too many of us are addicted to the sorrow, guilt, and shame of the past. Two … You are not running you. You have no control over your thinking and just let life run like a rudderless ship that just goes where the tide and other skippers take it. Three … You are acting a game of Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda … and trying to change the ending. You cant. Its over, wrapped up and in the box.
Tell me … when you drive somewhere … do you only follow where the bulk of the traffic is flowing or do you determine when to turn and which route to take? And do you spend 90% of your time looking in the rear vision mirror? If you answered yes to either question, get off the roads! If you answered no … why are you living your life without making conscious decisions of what route youre taking? And why are you living your life looking at the past all the time and not at whats in front of you?
Everyone and everything that you attracted into your life has been there to show you a better way to live. No, I don’t mean their mad, injurious ways. They were there to have you make the choice …I don’t want this, I want that. But most of us get emotionally invested in and stuck in I don’t want this. We never create I want that.
